Candice Mangione is a creative, calm and respectful Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) who feels privileged to live, work and play on the traditional lands of the Sinixt peoples.

Clinical Counselling
My practice is grounded in evidence based mindfulness, goal oriented, strengths based and solutions focused methods. I utilize strategies from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Somatic Therapy and Compassionate Inquiry to support each individual using a personalized approach best suited for you.
I hold a deep trust in the healing power of connection with the natural world, and believe that each individual is born with an innate drive and capacity towards wholeness and health.

Nature Therapy Sessions
The majority of our nature based sessions will be passive exposure and based completely on your therapeutic needs, desires and comfort level.
What does this look like?
This may include:
• A session within the comfort of a peaceful Geodome overlooking a serene forest landscape.
• A session involving walking, exploring, and sitting in the forest; or it could be comfortably sitting by a cozy outdoor fire.
• Virtual sessions complemented by nature-based activities or homework for you to explore on your own time.

Flexible Online Counselling
Online counseling offers a flexible and supportive way to access the care you need from wherever you feel most comfortable. Whether you’re at home, traveling, or simply unable to attend in-person sessions, online therapy allows us to connect without the limitations of location. Being in a familiar space during sessions can also make it easier to relax, open up, and feel grounded.
With online counseling, you have the freedom to work with a counselor who truly aligns with your needs, no matter where they are located. Together, we can create a personalized approach that feels right for you. This consistency and accessibility ensure that, no matter what life throws your way, you have a steady source of support to help you navigate your journey.

Women's Retreats
Mountain Air Counselling offers one-day women’s wellness retreats throughout the year, creating a peaceful space for women to slow down, reconnect with themselves, and restore their nervous systems in nature. Set in the beauty of the Kootenays, these retreats blend nature-based therapy, guided meditations, sound healing, fireside community discussions, and quiet time for reflection. Participants are invited to unplug from the busyness of daily life and spend a nourishing day experiencing restorative practices, gentle self-inquiry, and supportive connection with other women in a calm and welcoming environment.
Each retreat day includes opportunities for passive nature immersion, wood-fired sauna sessions, grounding outdoor experiences, and guided activities designed to help release stress and cultivate inner clarity. These gatherings are intentionally designed to support relaxation, emotional renewal, and meaningful connection while allowing plenty of space for personal reflection and rest. Whether you are seeking time to reset, deepen self-awareness, or simply enjoy a restorative day in community, these women’s retreats offer a supportive environment to relax, rejuvenate, and reconnect with yourself and others.

Hypnobirthing
Hypnobirthing at Mountain Air Counselling offers a calm, supportive approach to birth preparation that helps expectant mothers and their partners feel confident, grounded, and emotionally prepared for labour. Using guided relaxation, hypnosis, breathing techniques, and evidence-based birth education, Hypnobirthing teaches parents-to-be how to release fear, work with the body’s natural birthing process, and reduce anxiety and tension during labour. Sessions combine group discussions, meditations, and practical birth tools to support a more positive and empowered birth experience.
Both group Hypnobirthing classes and private individual sessions are available to meet different needs and comfort levels. Group programs provide structured learning and connection with other expectant parents, while one-on-one sessions offer personalized preparation, emotional support, and tailored hypnosis techniques for birth confidence and pain coping. Sessions are suitable for any parent seeking a natural or low-intervention birth, or anyone wanting to feel calmer and more prepared. Hypnobirthing helps families enter labour feeling informed, capable, and deeply connected to the transition into parenthood.

Clinical Hypnotherapy
Clinical Hypnotherapy at Mountain Air Counselling is a safe, natural, and deeply restorative process that helps calm the nervous system by gently slowing brainwave activity from active beta states into more relaxed alpha and theta frequencies. In this deeply relaxed yet aware state, the mind becomes more receptive to healing, insight, and positive change while you remain fully conscious and in control at all times. Hypnotherapy supports emotional regulation, stress reduction, and nervous system balance, allowing the body and mind to shift out of survival mode and into a state where meaningful healing can occur.
Hypnotherapy can be used alongside traditional talk therapy or as a series of restorative sessions focused on relaxation, healing, and personal growth. By working beyond the analytical cognitive mind, hypnosis helps access deeper patterns that influence habits, beliefs, and emotional responses, supporting the release of blocks and long-held stress or trauma. Many clients find they feel safer and more comfortable exploring challenging topics in this calm state, allowing healing conversations to unfold more naturally. Guided sessions are encouraged to be recorded so clients can practice self-hypnosis at home, reinforcing progress between appointments and creating an ongoing sense of calm, resilience, and inner regulation.

Clinical Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy Sessions
Clinical hypnotherapy sessions provide the opportunity to go deeper into your healing process through gentle meditative sessions. Each session is unique and may incorporate a passive, guided script which you are able to record and re-listen at home; or for a deeper session, we may proceed to regression therapy through the trance state. The later is a conversational approach while you are in a lower, more relaxed brain wave state. Both styles of sessions tap into your creative unconscious and activate your innate healing capacity.
